The Alliance commits to the following mandates:
Definition Stewardship Maintain and evolve the Network Nation definition with care. Balance conceptual coherence with room for diverse interpretations. Prevent dilution or co-option of the core concept while remaining open to its evolution.
Open Curation Keep the Index open and accessible. Moderate for alignment, not quality judgments. Err toward inclusion. Never position ourselves as gatekeepers of who “counts” as a Network Nation.
Narrative Care Engage thoughtfully with how Network Nations are represented in public discourse. Practice mimetic stewardship rather than memetic warfare. Maintain cultural appeal beyond academic circles.
Movement Over Organization Serve the broader Network Nations movement, not our own institutional growth. Support initiatives we don’t control. Celebrate successes that happen outside Alliance spaces.
What We Are Not
To maintain focus and integrity, the Alliance explicitly is not:
- A Network Nation itself (we are a coordinative group)
- A hierarchical organization controlling member projects
- A certification authority or gatekeeper
- A regulatory body imposing requirements on Network Nations
- A commercial entity or platform company
