Mutualist Society

An organization founded by Sara Horowitz to promote and connect cooperativist and mutualist economic models globally. Horowitz describes it as a space for organizing mutualists globally — discovering who else is working on these problems, identifying shared challenges, and beginning to build the coordination infrastructure that could enable these groups to act together at scale.

The Mutualist Society represents an early-stage attempt at exactly the kind of network-of-networks that Network Nations envision — connecting isolated pockets of mutualism into a more coherent movement. Its three defining principles (solidaristic group + economic mechanism + long-term time horizon) provide a working definition of mutualism that complements the Network Nations framework.
