David Bollier
Commons scholar, activist, and co-founder of the Commons Strategies Group (alongside Silke Helfrich and Michel Bauwens). Author of numerous books on commons-based governance including Think Like a Commoner (2014) and Free, Fair and Alive: The Insurgent Power of the Commons (co-authored with Helfrich, 2019). Editor of the Commoner blog.
Bollier’s work provides foundational theoretical vocabulary for the commons principle within Network Nations. His articulation of commoning as an active social practice — not merely a resource pool but a mode of collective governance and relationship — underpins the Network Nations distinction between commons-based stewardship and both state bureaucracy and market extraction.
