Santiago Siri

Argentine technologist, co-founder of Democracy Earth and Proof of Humanity. A pioneer in applying blockchain technology to democratic governance, Siri has worked for over a decade on the question of how cryptographic identity and decentralized protocols can enable new forms of political participation beyond the nation-state. Co-author of “A Blockchain Manifesto for Democracy” and builder of democratic infrastructure for the digital age.

His work on “protocol politics” — the idea that political constitutions can be encoded into software protocols — is central to the Network Nations episode exploring the relationship between politics and protocols. Democracy Earth’s work on soulbound tokens, proof of personhood, and on-chain voting systems represents a practical implementation of the functional sovereignty and self-governance principles of Network Nations. He also contributes to the Optimism Collective’s governance design.
